Day 3 | Auckland

Another chill morning and our first trip was to Westfield to get the phone connected resulted in success and got to see this fantastic mall at Newmarket. The Noel Leeming electronics shop was impressive even though their spooky AI assistant Noela was unsettling.

Lunch at White and Wongs (yes, that name’s correct) was great. The Lego shop was also buzzing with lots of kids in special Chinese new Year outfits. The $1,100 Eiffel Tower was considered.

A couple of stops at Auckland Uni and St Matthews in the City for a trip down memory lane. Stopping by Westhaven Marina to view the harbour bridge and get a few snaps.

Dinner at Faro Korean was a highlight – delicious food and great atmosphere. We forgot to get photos as we were having too much fun. On the way home – given the late sunset we stopped by Bastion Point (Takaparawhau).

O’Regan and Grandad stayed in the car as the others trekked off to grab some photos. Some oiks came up in their hifi endowed BMW and played us the song of their people as the sun set. Notwithstanding, excellent outlook.

Highlights:

Dad: Korean beer
Angus: the atmosphere at Faro
Rosie: the view of the city from Bastion Point
Mika: the tranquil landscape of Bastion Point
O'Regan: Pork buns
