Day 3 | The Wanaka Tree
We dragged ourselves out of bed, grabbed some toast and we were off again. A couple of the troupe decided to stay behind today and rest up as they were feeling a little under the weather. They were happy as there was more than enough to explore near the accommodation.
Our first stop was Wanaka and that amazing tree, such a beautiful town and the views were spectacular. We spent a bit of unscheduled extra time here as one of our team got stuck in the mud and lost a shoe. A new shoe is purchased and we are on our way again.
We made some extra stops just because it was too hard not to. We visited the Clay Cliffs, a lovely vista of Mt Cook and ended up at Lake Tekapo for dinner. Not before seeing the lovely Church of the Good Shepard.
It was another late night but totally worth it after the day we have had.
