Day 1 | Depart Brisbane arrive Queenstown
We gathered at the airport in Brisbane and waiting for our flight. We were very excited to start as this has been planned for over a year.
We boarded our flight and we were off. Flying over Queenstown as we came in to land we had a beautiful view of the stunning countryside. We processed through quickly and I was greeted by my brother in law, dressed in official airport uniform, which was super cool. Then my niece came running through arrivals and greeted us with a big hug. It was beginning to look suspicious like we had connections to the airport ha ha.
We boarded our mini van and headed to our accommodation. WOW the views were incredible.
Dinner tonight was at The Bathhouse Cafe, Bar & Restaurant (www.bathhouse.co.nz) on the waterfront. I cannot rate them highly enough. The view is spectacular to start with and as we sat and watched the sun set across the harbour we settled in for such a treat. The food was incredible, with generous portions, beautiful presentation and such deliciousness, we had to find room for dessert, and that didn't disappoint either. And as for the service that was outstanding to boot. I especially loved how they shared the history of the Bathhouse with us and showed us photos and regaled stories of bygone times. It was one of the most enjoyable meals I have had in a long time.
We left content and excited about what we would see tomorrow.
