Dad and Lori experience Brisbane Heares style

How fast a week passes when you're having fun.  It was so good to see dad and Lori and show them Brisbane.

They arrived via the Port of Brisbane getting off the Queen Mary II that sailed from Tauranga.

We spent the day they arrived, Sunday, showing them around Chermside and having a bite to eat.  We even managed to catch up with McKay for a coffee in Newmarket before heading off to their awesome apartment in South Bank.

Monday we went at IKEA which was a given, we shopped and ate meatballs.  We introduced them to Costco and I believe their new favourite place.  It was also McKay's birthday so we ended the day with a celabratory meal at The American Cafe.

They spent the next few days exploring Brisbane.

Friday it was off to Blue Bungalow, a fantastic dress shop that was just brimming with amazing clothes.  Next was a visit to Indooropilly shopping centre - and you can spend all day there easy.

We popped back to the apartment for a quick cuppa and waited for the sunset as we wanted to show them the city by night.  We headed up to Mt Cootha for a lovely clear view of the city.  It is truely spectacular.  Then a quick trip back into town and a stop at Wilson's lookout to see the Story Bridge all lite up too.  We were all getting a bit hungry now so we decided to head out to Ribs and Rump for dinner - just because.  It was delicious.

Saturday it was back to Costco because one visit just isn't enough.

Sadly Sunday it was time to say goodbye as they flew back to New Zealand.  It has been a fabulous week of food and shopping and fun.  Thank you both for coming and sharing time with us.
