Day 1 | Brisbane to New York (via Korea)
With an early start at 4.00am we headed to the airport with Libby and Ian providing our much appreciated taxi service. Having finished packing at 2.00am we were feeling very sleep deprived.
This was our first time flying Korean Air and we would have to rate them 10/10. We could not fault them on anything. Their friendly, helpful staff couldn’t do enough to make your trip comfortable. The spacious seats with seemingly more legroom. The delicious food that seem to be plentiful. Even the vegan option seemed good.
We were all very excited that we were on a new style plane and dimming windows v old style blinds were pretty cool.
We arrived in at Incheon Airport, Seoul at their very new and stunning terminal. Again with super efficient organisation we were herded through all processes, including the random extra, extra security interview for O’Regan, well within our two hour transfer.
We arrived to JFK Airport, New York to the familiar chaos that is a large american airport. This disorganised process took some two hours in comparison.
We picked up our rental from Thrifty without incident, yay. This journey will be within a Dodge Caravan, a red one none the less.
We checked into our hotel in Edison, New Jersey just after 11pm. So after finding some snacks at the 7-Eleven we are off to bed. Which after 24 hours flying, many hours in queues and a small amount of driving we’re buggered.
Oh and there was snow on the ground outside our hotel, just sayin.
