Sunnybank Food Tour

I wasn’t sure what to expect when we started this tour. Well can I just say it was super fun, informative and a great way to spend an afternoon. Tony our guide was fantastic, very knowlegable and boy does he know his stuff.

Our group of 14 started in an asian supermarket where Tony discussed different vegetables and their uses, the correct way to treat garlic, what is good in the freezer section and what not to put on what. It certainly makes me want to make over my pantry with all the delicous treats and fasinating things Tony discussed.

We were now off to learn about meat. OMG the BBQ pork was amazing. I have never been a fan of soup but let me tell you the won ton soup was amazing. Definatly going to have that again.

But wait there’s more. Now to a sit down restaurant, where we tried Congee and learning the correct etiquit for sharing a meal. Yep another delicous meal I have never tried before but can say will have again.

Now to another supermaket which is simlar but diffrent, more learning about different foods to try. Before the next stop he gets us to try something else unfamilar to boost our appetite and get us ready for our next treat. Mmmm super delicous too (I won’t spoil the surprise incase you want to go).

And finally we finish at a freshly rennovated vietanamee restaurant where we had the most amazing spread of food. The chicken was perfection, green beans with pork, steamed rice, singapore noodles, whitebait OMG so good. And the cherry on the top a mango frappe that is now also on my list of favourite foods.

As we farewelled Tony and thanked him for a brilliant couple of hours, he hands us a goodie bag with treats for us to try at home.

So if you’re looking for something different to try I would totally recommend this. Tony is super informative, funny, engaging, approachable and full of great stores. Click here for link to food tour.

Below are a few photos I took on our tour. Also a reminder of some of the great things Tony pointed out and I want to try.
